What is PLA, PETG, and TPU? Why should I pick one over the other?PLA - Polylactic Acid - Is a plastic that is easy to use, widely available in lots of colors, and cheap to produce. It's not recommended for use in object exposed to high temperatures or moisture. It's also not recommended for use outdoors or when strength/durability are the most important. PETG - Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol - Is a plastic that in both strong & durable, plus it has high UV and heat resistance. But PETG does not come in as many colors or styles, it is also harder to do post processing on after the print is complete. TPU - Thermoplastic Polyurethane - Is great to use when flexibility is the most important feature of a print. TPU is also very durable and resistant to oils, greases, chemicals, and most wear. Some issues are that TPU does not print very detailed objects. It also come in very few colors and styles. TPU should not be left in direct sunlight or exposed to UV light.
